Partner Şahin Ardıyok and Dentons partners Ian McGrath and Liz Tout spoke at the Energy Law Symposium held in Ankara on 22 – 23 May 2014.

The symposium, organized by the Ankara University Law School and Notaries Union of Turkey under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) and Electricity Generation Company (EÜAŞ), received a large attendance both from the public and private sector.

Şahin Ardıyok’s speech focused on the evolution of Turkish electricity market regulations in general and in the renewable energy sector. Ian McGrath and Liz Tout spoke on the hot topics in energy disputes, market dislocation, new markets globally and protecting investments.

During the event significant issues such as, regulations in renewable energy, energy offers and demands, competition issues in conventional and unconventional energy generation and dispute resolution mechanisms in energy market were discussed in several panels.
