On 22 January maritime law partner Gülistan Baltacı Hatay and associate Burçak Sercan Sarıkaya presented a half-day seminar on maritime, environmental and customs law to Mersin International Port.

Baltacı and Sarıkaya discussed environmental pollution that occurs during the loading and discharging of operations; measures to be taken by ports to avoid civil and criminal liability; customs issues stemming from uncollected cargoes; and the successful collection of fees and dues of the port. They also focused on the legal status of bills of lading and its effects on the collection of ports’ receivables

Approximately 60 guests attended the event, including the executives and staff of MIP.
