On March 5th, 2024, during the Applied Competition Law Seminars hosted by Istanbul Bilgi University, our partner, Dr. Elvan Sevi Bozoğlu, and one of our Counsels, Attorney Barış Yüksel, delivered a presentation titled "Distribution Agreements in the Pharmaceutical Sector".

This presentation shed light on the intricate dynamics of distribution agreements within the pharmaceutical sector, a topic of increasing relevance in recent years, through the lens of competition law. Its objective was to elucidate the evolving perspectives evident in decisions made by the Competition Board, using illustrative examples.

The pharmaceutical industry possesses distinct characteristics that set it apart from other sectors, particularly due to its profound impact on human life. Accordingly, the presentation delved into the sector's contentious issues while also exploring the origins and fundamental principles underlying various distribution systems, which have been subjects of considerable discourse in the realm of competition law worldwide.
