UK FinTech Week Eastern Europe and Central Asia hosted by UK Department for International Trade took place on 22-26 November. The online event gathered leading experts from the UK and Eastern Europe and Central Asia region to discuss topical issues around digital transformation in the financial sector.

23th of November was reserved for practical issues on Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) compliance in Turkey. The panel, chaired by Richard Maton, had started following the keynote speech of MASAK President Mr. Hayrettin Kurt. Our Senior Associate İlker Fatih Kıl from BASEAK Regulation and Competition Team attended the event as a panelist on regulation technologies in AML/CFT compliance. As BASEAK gives legal advice to both of its domestic and international clients on the AML/CFT compliance, İlker Fatih Kıl’s speech reflected BASEAK’s attention and close follow-ups regarding the developments on the issue.
