We are delighted to announce that Ömer Faruk Çelik has joined our Public Policy and Regulation / Competition Team as a Senior Consultant.

After having his bachelor of electronics engineering from Istanbul Technical University and master’s degree in cybersecurity from Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He also had a law degree from Ankara University, the School of Law.

After 5 years of experience in the private sector as IT manager, he worked as a competition expert at the Turkish Competition Authority between 2013 and 2022. Throughout the last three years of his career with the Turkish Competition Authority, he served as “Head of the IT Department.”  

Besides managing digital forensics, cybersecurity, and software development teams, he took an active role in the drafting of secondary legislation such as “Guidelines on the Examination of Digital Data during On-Site Inspections.” Ömer worked in antitrust investigations as a case handler in the telco and banking sectors. He contributed to information security and data protection-related certification and compliance programs.

He has participated in several international meetings and workshops organized by European Competition Network Forensic IT Subgroup. He also has given speeches about forensic investigation techniques in internal training programs. He was one of the three editors of the Competition Journal between 2020 and 2022.

Ömer Faruk Çelik has an extensive experience in competition law, data protection law, and white-collar crimes. He also specializes in mobile and computer forensics, open-source intelligence (OSINT), cyber threat detection and incident response, IT infrastructure system administration, and applied data science matters. Due to practical field experience in dawn raids, Ömer is specialized in using industry-leading digital forensic software.

We believe that Ömer Faruk Çelik will greatly contribute to our Team, especially in investigations concerning data protection, white-collar crimes, and irregularity, and above all, in using and developing the technology in legal services.
