Balcıoğlu Selçuk Ardıyok Keki Attorney Partnership (BASEAK) has strengthened its team with the addition of two partners - Elvan Sevi Bozoğlu and Mehmet Feridun İzgi - along with their team of 21 fee-earners.

They join from Bozoğlu İzgi Attorney Partnership (BI Legal), which Elvan Sevi Bozoğlu and Mehmet Feridun İzgi founded in 2013. The team is well known for its regulatory compliance offering - particularly in the life sciences, energy, technology, and insurance sectors – and is ranked by The Legal 500 EMEA among the leading firms for Compliance in Turkey. The two partners will establish and co-lead a new Life Sciences sector group and will strengthen the existing Energy sector group at BASEAK. The combination will also complement the Firm’s offerings in other practices, such as Compliance, Investigations & White-Collar Crime, Employment and Dispute Resolution.

Dr. Elvan Sevi Bozoglu has 20+ years of experience in public law, with a focus on life sciences industry regulations, investigations, and anti-corruption. She represents clients before the regulatory bodies in complex M&A transactions, provides strategic regulatory consultancy, and assists them in crisis management. This includes representing clients in governmental inquiries, tax and customs inspections, enforcement actions and related litigation. She also leads internal investigations to address whistle-blower allegations, potential FCPA and UKBA violations, fraud, kickbacks and antitrust matters, and advises on the establishment of compliance systems. She is a board member of the Association of Companies focused on Rare Diseases and the Turkish Clinical Trial Association. She has written numerous articles on key legal issues and is a lecturer on criminal law in a reputable university. She holds a PhD from Istanbul Kültür University.

Dr. Mehmet Feridun İzgi has 20+ years of experience in representing clients from the energy and life sciences sectors in commercial contracts, corporate law, litigation and dispute resolution, and employment law. He has an industrial focus on the energy sector. Before entering into private legal practice at BI Legal, he served as in-house lawyer in leading Turkish automotive and energy companies. With his in-house background he provides clients with tailor-made advisory services and represent them before civil courts in complex commercial litigation. Along with serving to clients active in Life Sciences industry, his deep Energy industry experience is well recognized by the industry stakeholders and experts and is a member of the supervisory board of the Turkish Wind Energy Association. He holds a PhD from the Yeditepe University.
