Balcıoğlu Selçuk Akman Keki Attorney Partnership (BASEAK) has been named “Turkey M&A Legal Adviser of the Year” in the Mergermarket European Awards 2017. The award was presented on 7 December at a gala event at the Banqueting House in London.

The awards, organized by international M&A publication Mergermarket, recognize creative advisory work on complex transactions. The rigorous judging process includes an analysis of M&A league tables to identify the top law firms by overall transaction value and deal count, followed by scrutiny by a panel of expert judges.

Partners Galip M. Selçuk, Head of the Corporate and M&A practice in Turkey, and Müfit Arapoğlu, Head of the Capital Markets practice, accepted the award on behalf of BASEAK.

The team advised Yıldız Holding on the sale of its affiliate manufacturing culinary products Örgen Gıda and its Bizim Mutfak brands to the Japanese food and chemical corporation Ajinomoto. The Firm also assisted FMC Corporation in the acquisition of Dupont’s crop protection business assets in Turkey and in the sale of its Turkish health and nutrition subsidiary to DuPont.
