Balcıoğlu Selçuk Akman Keki Attorney Partnership and Dentons joined the UK Investment Forum and Invest in Turkey Forum as gold sponsors, both of which were held at the Conrad St. James Hotel, London on 10 – 11 May 2018. BASEAK and Dentons lawyers provided valued legal outlook both from the Turkish and English law point-of-view on many important sectors attracting investors.

Co-organised by DEIK Outbound Investment Business Council on 10 May 2018, the UK Turkish Overseas Investment Forum provided a premier platform for potential Turkish global investors prioritising the UK and also for infrastructure developers, start-ups and financiers to be updated on the regulation and business policies of going global through the UK.  Dentons Istanbul partner Tamsyn Mileham, Dentons London partners Nikolas Colbridge and Jonathan Cantor, BASEAK partner Müfit Arapoğlu, as well as Dr. Ece Gürsoy of Global Ports, advised in the Regulations for Foreign & Turkish Investments panel, in which Dentons London partner Cameron Half was the moderator. BASEAK managing partner Barlas Balcıoğlu provided insight in Wealth Management & Real Estate Sector Highlights for Corporate Turkish Investors panel.

Supported by main business associations and investment promotion agencies, the Invest in Turkey Forum on 11 May 2018 attracted potential investors and financiers and provided important updates on the development plans and policies of Turkey. Through discussions on the latest infrastructure projects in the region, the Forum provided a solid platform for industry professionals from both the private and public sector to meet, build partnerships and discuss opportunities and current challenges for major infrastructure, PPP and renewable energy projects in the country.  Barlas Balcıoğlu spoke at the Real Estate and Infrastructure Opportunities & Funding Options panel,  BASEAK Counsel, Ceren Su, spoke at the Renewable Energy Investments and YEKA Projects Opportunities and Dentons Istanbul partner, Ian McGrath, shared his industry insights at the Transport Infrastructure Investments panel.

The events were attended by approx. 150 corporate investors, industry executives, business associations and investment promotion agencies.
